meet our team

We’ve assembled an amazing team to bring Rasa to life. We’ve handled thousands of cases and are not only qualified to help you but also deeply passionate about what we do.

why our work matters

In a digital age, criminal records are easily accessible. 9 out of 10 employers and 4 out of 5 landlords conduct background checks, making it difficult to obtain better jobs, housing, and other opportunities. Criminal records can also make it difficult to do other things like get an education, obtain a loan, apply for a promotion, volunteer in your child’s school, or achieve financial stability.

Clearing your criminal record can be life-changing, because it opens up access to all kinds of opportunities. Here are a few of the many benefits of record clearance:

  • People without records are 63% more likely to get a job interview
  • Just one year after record clearance, average wages go up by over 20%

what our customers say

I reached out to Rasa Legal to learn about options for expunging a few records I had from college. Rasa was able to clearly present me all of my options, in a zero pressure way. With Utah’s new Clean Slate program I had the option of waiting for auto clearance or going through the petition-based process. I chose the latter, and chose to have Rasa represent me and could not have had a better experience. Rasa was very communicative through the whole process and was a very cost-effective option compared to other firms in the state. I would not hesitate to recommend Rasa to anyone that is looking for expungement services in the state of Utah.

we are a fair chance employer

People who have been through the expungement process before have first-hand experience with record clearance and know how frustrating and difficult it can be. We believe that having directly impacted people on our team helps us design better products and deliver better services to people with records.

our origins

After working as a public defender, our founder, Noella Sudbury found herself tackling criminal justice reform at the Salt Lake County Mayor's office. There, she spearheaded Utah's first "Expungement Day" and later led Utah’s campaign to pass the second clean slate law in the country. Realizing that many people still struggled with the complex, expensive expungement process, Noella founded Rasa to make expungement faster, easier, and more affordable, addressing a critical gap in the legal system. With Rasa, Noella aims to give people a real shot at rebuilding their lives after their involvement in the criminal justice system.
